Mass brawl broke out at the Banjul International airport last night after passengers on an SN Brussel flight refused to be taken into quarantine, Gambiana has learned.

An eyewitness told this paper that the incident happened after the passengers on the plane that arrived from Belgium had cleared customs.

The passengers mostly men were angry that they were not allowed to hug their spouse and children who went to welcome them.

They fought with airport staff who were attempting to quarantine the passengers without Covid–19 test certificates.

The Gambia government recently announced travel restrictions for 31 countries from Europe and the Americas , and that overseas travellers will now be footing the bill for their own quarantine.

GCAA and the police have been contacted for comment.
