Four coronavirus positive patients have escaped to Senegal before they were to be moved to treatment centres, The Gambia Health Ministry has announced.

No details were provided on the circumstances leading to the escape. The unnamed individuals who fled to neighbouring Senegal would be endangering people they come in contact with.

Meanwhile a 66-year-old man, who was receiving treatment at the Medical Research Council in Bakau, has died of coronavirus.

About 193 new laboratory test results were received (32 from MRC and from 161 from NPHL) with no new test returned indeterminate or inconclusive, the Ministry of Health said.
