The Gambia and Senegal have agreed to utilise a digital cross border transit management system.

According to The Gambia government the system will ease the movement of goods and services between the two countries.

The two countries agreed to adopt the Automated Management of Transit Merchandise (SIGMAT) system by mid 2021, to facilitate a smooth and efficient cross border trade management.

They also agreed to eliminate all non-tariff barriers especially on petroleum products from the Gambia to Mali including Guinea Bissau and the Republic of Guinea.
