Hopes in Gambia notched slidly down as two people have been reported of catching coronavirus, bringing the country’s number of virus cases to 28.

The pair – a man and a woman, both Gambains, are said to be aged 20 and 38. They are said to have been confirmed in North Bank Region.

Modou Njai director of health promotion said on Monday:”One of these is the first confirmed case reported from North Bank West Region.”

He added: “Both cases were in quarantine for having a recent travel history to locations with ongoing community transmission, their respective neighbours reported their issue to the COVID-19 response team through the 1025 Hotline.”
