The Gambia’s opposition coalition set up few days ago have split after disagreement over the flag bearer of the group. 

The deal dubbed the 2021 Alliance for Change was signed on Wednesday by five political parties — Citizens’ Alliance, Gambia Moral Congress, Gambia For All, All People’s Party, National Unity Party — 

to unseat President Adama Barrow in the December presidential election. 

Citizens’ Alliance (CA) Domic Mendy told reporters at a news conference today that the parties have gone their separate ways.

Mendy said CA will now nominate its leader Dr Ismaila Ceesay to contest the presidential election in December.
