Senegalese superstar Wally Balago Secka has resolved a legal dispute that could have seen him jailed in The Gambia.

The superstar had a lucky escape in the early hours of Saturday morning when police acting on a magistrate bench warrant turned up at his Coco Ocean hotel room to arrest him.

Wally was facing accusations of breach of contact over a €10,000 cash deposit he was paid to perform for a show promoter in Gambia and Bercy on 2018.

The lawsuit filed by one Ousman S. M. of Koli listed Wally Seck and Fanta Siddibeh as defendants.

Wally, who was in The Gambia to perform at a concert, said the case had been resolved after he instructed his lawyers to pay the €10,000.

He said: “How can you bring someone a complaint at 1am and ask them [police] to bring that person for questioning? As if the person is a criminal? You will then realise there is someone behind the promoter stoking things.

“But God has poured cold water on it and we have passed it. Wally Secka did not go to police as I gave my lawyer and my team and they went and gave them the money and I went to play at my show.”

The Senegalese superstar added: “So those people who are in the background stoking things are now shamed. Because I’m strong and I’m not afraid. I’m not someone who would cause people trouble. My father is Thione.”
