Three survivors of Yahya Jammeh’s bogus AIDs treatment programme have filed a fresh civil suit against the former president at the High Court in Banjul.

Ousman Yerro Sowe, Fatou Jatta and Lamin Moko Ceesay of Bakau are claiming damages for harm suffered from the treatment.

This is the second attempt by the survivors to bring Jammeh to justice.

The first case was previously heard by Justice Sainabou Wadda-Cisse of the Banjul High Court.

The trial could not go ahead as the court was unable to subpoena the former president who lives in exile in Equatorial Guinea.

Attempts to serve him court papers in Equatorial Guinea through diplomatic channel failed after authorities in Equatorial Guinea rebuffed them.
