Dozens of people have been left homeless in Prince village after Saturday’s heavy rains which submerged several houses.

Ali Cham who spoke to Gambiana via telephone said “the rain has caused a great destruction. Many houses have been submerged, and I can confirm many people are currently homeless.”

He called for quick support from the government and philanthropists to come to aid of the villagers.

Prince is a small village located in Upper Niumi district, North Bank Region, where many villagers depend solely on agricultural farming.
