Diaspora Gambians will have the opportunity to be registered for the December 4 presidential election in July, the Independent Electoral Commission has said.

If the registration goes as plan, it will be the first time in the country’s history for Gambians in the diaspora to participate in national elections.

Alhaji Alieu Momarr Njai, IEC chairman, 

said: “Although we have recently announced a delay in the start of voter registration in Gambia, the dates of Out-of-Country diaspora voter registration remain July 2021.”
