ST Foundation has given out 50 bags of rice to Islamic schools around the country to help the needy during the holy month of Ramadan.
ST, whose real name is Sanna Singhateh, has been widely praised by his fans for the generous support to the poor and needy.
The Afro-Manding singer whose latest album hit a million views on YouTube has made similar donations in the past years.
ST told reporters that he and his team deemed it necessary to give back to the communities as they were there for him when he started out.
“We are in Ramadan and we thought it necessary to reach out to Madarassas and Islamic boarding schools around the country to give our support to them,” he said.
He urged for unity in the country saying that “The Gambia belongs to all of us” and urged other privileged Gambians to give support to the poor and needy during this tough times.
He also commended his fans for their continued support.
Comedian Alhagie Muhammed Darboe described ST as a “humble and kind individual” who usually help poor people around the country.
“I know the type of person he is, he used to give supports which are different from this kind and people like us are the ones who will say that.
“It is important to supporting your own and ST has once again manifested it. When you give to your own, they bring it back to the society. ST has been demonstrating such.”
Darboe urged Gambians in the diaspora to support the ST Foundation in in their drive to give more support to Gambians.
Ismaila Fadera, who goes by the pen name D’Saint, said caring and sharing is part of the musician’s attitude and career, adding “he gives support to the people always”.
“I pray to God to keep blessing ST. And this foundation is here to stay because he is not doing music for the sake of doing music,” he said.
