Essa Faal is to announce his candidacy for the December 4 presidential election on Friday, Gambiana can confirmed 

Faal, the lead counsel of The Gambia’s Truth, Reconciliation and Reparations Commission, will make the announcement at a press conference tomorrow. 

He will have a one-to-one interview with Fatou Touray of Kerr Fatou on Saturday.

In July Mr Faal fuelled speculation during a radio interview that he was interested in running for the presidential election in December.

He told the host of For The People By The People show that he is ready to serve in whatever capacity the people want him to serve in.

“I am willing to serve in whatever capacity the people of this country want me to serve in. It’s not about what I can get. What I can get, I get for myself and I get for myself elsewhere.

“But this is about service to the country, service to the people. Where I am required, where I am needed if it accords with my values, would go there and I would do
