President-elect Adama Barrow has vowed to deliver justice for victims of human rights violation that occurred under the 22-year rule of former President Yahya Jammeh.
Barrow who was speaking to reporters at State House on Tuesday also promised reconciliation among Gambians as his administration delivers justice for the victims.
“One thing we want to assure (Gambians) there will be justice and there will be reconciliation,” Barrow said.
“As I said I am the architect of the Truth, Reconciliation and Reparations Commission TRRC (and) be rest assured it will be and there will be justice (for victims),” he added.
Barrow has received the report of the state backed truth commission which looked into rights violations that happened under the iron-fist rule of Jammeh who now lives in exile in Equatorial Guinea after he lost the 2016 presidential election to President Barrow.
