A seven passenger commercial taxi driver has been detained after he attempted to forcefully take away female passenger’s purse containing some cash.

This happened at Talinding Koloban taxi garage in Serrekunda.

Speaking to Gambiana, Isatou Jallow, the victim explained that:”I boarded the taxi at Taliding Koloban while I was going to drop off at Churchill’s Town at the Jah Oil petrol station. But as he starts driving, we reached a point where the traffic was jammed and he told us he is going to take the route through Ebo Town.”

“So I paid him and decided to alight from the car, but as I dropped off and start walking, he came towards me and forcefully took my purse which was containing 500 dalasis.

“I lost my money and I took his car number plate and reported him to the Serrekunda police station and the police arrested him, and he paid back the missing money and he was released,” she added.
