A school girl, who is identified as Mamy Jassey, has allegedly committed suicide at Kunkujang Jatta-ya.

According to a source who spoke to Gambiana, the victim allegedly took her life over unwanted pregnancy, adding that the girl was a Grade 10 student of Maladah Senior Secondary School.

“She drank a poison and a medical officer was called to check her, and after checking on her, the girl was briefly fine. But afterwards, she died when everybody in the neighbourhood thought she would recover,” the source told Gambiana.

Police could not be reached for comment.
