Modou Lamin Touray (Sarr), the gaffer of Brikama United, has downplayed the Satayba Boys’ chances of winning the Gambia Football Federation Division One League despite the team’s magnificent good run that placed them third on the league table.  

Brikama United are enjoying their best season since winning The Gambia’s top-tier league in the 2018/2019 season. However, coach Modou Lamin Sarr put off his side’s title credentials after a thrilling 1-0 home win against Marimoo Parkfood at Box Bar Mini Stadium.  

“We have no chance of winning the league, I always said we have no chance and believe me. This team is just starting. We have changed 20 players from the team we had last year. We haven’t even expected to be in this position but we have found ourselves there and we are enjoying it,” Sarr explained.  

Brikama United will lock horns with their cross-town rivals Greater Tomorrow in the last match of the first round in a scintillating Brikama derby.
