President Adama Barrow attended the inauguration of Gabonese President Brice Oligui Nguema on May 3. 

The ceremony marks a historic occasion for Gabon as the country transitions from military rule to a civilian government.

The inauguration ceremony was a solemn affair, blending constitutional formalities with the rich cultural and religious traditions of Gabon. 

The event featured vibrant displays of national colors and symbols, accompanied by impressive military demonstrations. 

In a show of pan-African unity, the ceremony was attended by over a dozen African heads of state and government, alongside representatives from regional and continental bodies. 

President Barrow’s presence at the event reflects The Gambia’s commitment to fostering strong and constructive ties with Gabon, a country that is home to a significant Gambian community, according to a statement from State House. 

As diplomacy plays a crucial role in building international partnerships, President Barrow has reaffirmed his dedication to strengthening bilateral relations with Gabon in the years ahead.
