Gambian rapper and activist Killer Ace is among dozens of youths arrested for staging a protest demanding the full list of buyers of assets linked to former Gambian President Yahya Jammeh.

The group had gathered to demand the publication of a full list of individuals who purchased assets linked to former President Yahya Jammeh.

Killer Ace, known for his criticism of injustice and corruption, was detained with at least 15 youths. Police said the protest was not authorised.

Supporters have praised the rapper as a vocal advocate for social justice in the country.

This is not the first time Killer Ace has been arrested. In 2019, he was detained following a youth-led protest over the alleged killing of Sierra Leonean national Ousman Darboe.
