The National Assembly will convene an extraordinary session this week to debate a motion seeking to investigate the sale of assets belonging to former President Yahya Jammeh.
The session, scheduled for Wednesday 14 and Thursday 15 May 2025, will begin at 10:00 a.m. on both days. Lawmakers are expected to consider the formation of a special select committee to lead the inquiry into how Jammeh’s confiscated assets were sold and managed.
The move follows mounting public pressure and recent protests demanding greater transparency and accountability in the handling of the former president’s properties.

In a public notice, the Office of the Clerk of the National Assembly reminded attendees to adhere to the official dress code—either traditional attire or a formal suit—and to maintain silence during proceedings.
