Gambian human rights activist and political commentator, Madi Jobarteh’s mobile phone is reportedly taken from him as he get bail after two days in police custody.

“Madi Jobarteh’s phone is not retuned to him yet. If you make a call,  you won’t get him.
Thank you,” his brother Sulayman Junkung Jobarteh said. 

Madi was arrested on Monday after he was called up for questioning by police on Friday.

The rights activist said he informed officers of the State Intelligence Service that he was sick and will not be able to go for questioning. Two days later, he complained that the police had launched a surveillance on him.
