Gambian football wonderkid Adama Bojang, has made his French League 1 debut on Sunday.

Bojang nicknamed the Gambian hurricane, for his athleticism and prowess, impressed on his debut appearance for French club Reims. 

The Gambia Football Federation lauded the youngster’s debut describing it as “historic moment” in the country’s football. 

Bojang joined the French club this July on a five year contract from Gambian club Steve Biko. 

“History was made today as Adama Bojang became the first player to move from the Gambian league and made his debut for a club in the top five leagues in Europe in the same season.

“He came off the bench this afternoon to make his debut for Stade de Reims in a 3-1 defeat away to Rennes in the French Ligue 1. This is another manifestation that the Gambian league is indeed on the right trajectory towards development. Congratulations to Adama Bojang and his agency, SPOCS Consultancy and everyone associated with his career development thus far,”GFF said in a statement.
