Attack has accused the media of twisting his Friday radio interview to scapegoat him as a divider while justifying his claims that tribalism is a major obstacle in Gambian music.
Abdoulie Gaye has come under online criticism after alleging that he is being targeted due to tribalism, pointing fingers at some Mandinka fans and media houses owned by Mandinkas.
However, barely 24 hours after his heated radio interview, Attack came out to clarify, this time going after the media.
“The media houses are misconstruing my whole interview and trying to give you guys the wrong information,” he said in a Facebook live stream.
While justifying his claims of being a target of tribalism, he said his intention is to fight against tribalism and unite the country.
He added: “The main purpose of me bringing up this issue is to unite Gambia, but I am not trying to divide Gambia.”
Meanwhile, he lashed out at those accusing him of pointing fingers at Mandinkas, stating that he did not intend to disrespect the Mandinka people.
“I don’t say this to speak badly about the Mandinkas, but this is the reality I am facing. I didn’t say this to divide Gambia or disrespect Mandinkas.
“We are not here to divide Gambia, but I am trying to unite Gambia. The Gambia has to be one,” he said.
He also urged the media he accused of taking sides to be neutral and treat all Gambian artists equally.
