President Adama Barrow has a bone to pick with the Gambian media and accused them of being bias against his government.
Mr Barrow claimed that the Gambia’s private media have not been fairly covering his government’s programmes and activities.
“We are not asking you to support us, but you should be fair to my government, be fair in your coverage,” the president told supporters at his Meet-the-People tour.
He said some of the journalists are “political activists” hiding behind journalism to further their political agenda.
He added that such “journalist-activists” would not be fair to his government.
The president praised his party’s (National People’s Party) social media platforms as the place for“accurate and objective” reporting of his government’s programmes.
He urged Gambians to visit the NPP social media forums for “objective reporting” on his government’s developmental programmes.
