
President Adama Barrow on Thursday received the Secretary General of the Organisation of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (OACPS), Mousa Saleh Batraki, and his delegation at the State House in Banjul.
During the meeting, the delegation briefed the president on preparations for the 11th OACPS Heads of State and Government Summit scheduled to take place in Equatorial Guinea later this month.

They also highlighted progress made under The Gambia’s leadership as chair of the OACPS Community of Ambassadors in Brussels, including ongoing reforms within the organisation.
President Barrow emphasised the need for transparency and good governance in the management of the organisation, urging stronger engagement with member states and greater ownership in protecting its independence and priorities.
For his part, Secretary General Batraki thanked the president for the warm reception and commended his leadership in strengthening cooperation among member states.
Foreign Affairs Minister Modou Njie accompanied the delegation during the visit to the presidency.
