President Adama Barrow has visited the flood-affected regions of Basse to assess the ongoing crisis firsthand.
The president’s inspection comes as communities grapple with significant flooding that has impacted numerous households.
During his visit, President Barrow expressed solidarity with the victims and pledged government support for those affected.
“We are committed to providing assistance and ensuring that our citizens receive the help they need during this difficult time,” he said.
In response to the flooding, the National Disaster Management Agency (NDMA) and the Basse Area Council have been conducting assessments to determine the extent of the damage and coordinate effective relief measures.
Authorities are working to implement strategies to support the affected communities and mitigate further risks.
The Gambian government continues to monitor the situation closely, as it aims to deliver timely aid and address the challenges posed by the severe weather conditions.
