President Adama Barrow

President Adama Barrow has said he will remain in the country after leaving office, dismissing any suggestion that he would relocate abroad.

Speaking during a meeting with Banjul Muslim elders at the State House after Eid prayers, the president said he is already preparing for life after his tenure, with a new home currently under construction.

“I’m doing my part and anytime my presidency ends, I will relocate to my new home which is under construction,” he said.

“Because I will not leave this country after my presidency. I am going to stay in this country anytime I leave power.”

Barrow stressed his commitment to The Gambia, adding that he has no intention of relocating elsewhere. “I am not even moving an inch to Casamance,” he said.
