Mamadi Kurang, a former presidential aspirant, has endorsed the United Democratic Party (UDP) ahead of the 2026 presidential election.

Speaking at a press conference currently under way at the Bakau Youth Centre, Kurang said he had given the matter careful thought and was convinced that only the UDP could “salvage the country” and prevent President Adama Barrow from seeking a third term in office through the polls.

“I have come to the conclusion that the best option to end Barrow’s third-term bid for the presidency is the United Democratic Party,” he declared.
