At least 11 people have been reported to have died of Kush drug amid spiking cases in The Gambia.
Kush drug has been wreaking havoc on young people of the country since it emerged from the neighboring countries of Sierra Leone and Liberia.
The Gambia ministry of health indicated in its latest report that: “the last three weeks, nineteen (19) new clinical cases have been reported from health facilities bringing the total to 113 cases, a 20% increase.
“Seven new Kush associated suspected deaths have been reported from health facilities thus bringing the total to eleven (11) with a case fatality rate of 9.7%.”
This report comes after four young Gambians (three males and a female from Banjul, Barra, London Corner and Palma Rima) died after consuming the dangerous drug.
