Gambian Information Minister Dr. Ismaila Ceesay has accused Manding King Amadou Kora of selling off cows that belonged to former Gambian President Yahya Jammeh.
Dr. Ceesay’s accusation comes amid growing public scrutiny over the sale of assets linked to Jammeh, which prompted the National Assembly to set up an inquiry into the sale of these assets.
This follows days of street protests by young Gambians, who have called for transparency and accountability regarding the sale of the assets.

However, Dr. Ceesay told Coffee Times that the nation will be shocked once the parliamentary investigation is completed, stating that some high-profile names will surface, although he did not go into details.
But the interview took a dranatic turn when he mentioned the Manding King, alleging that he was responsible for selling the cows.

He dismissed claims that the government had any involvement in the sale of the cows as “false,” adding that the cows were sold under the orders of the Janneh Commission.
“That question should be asked of the Manding King; I think his name is Kora (Amadou Kora). He was there when these cows were being sold. He was even setting the prices.”
“He is a UDP guy, and he is from Basse. He was there when these cows were being sold. What we know is that he is a UDP guy, and he was determining the prices,” he said.
