The Agriculture Minister has once again targeted Brikama Area Council Chairman, branding the firebrand politician as someone who spends all his time fighting rather than focusing on the work that brought him into office.
Dr Demba Sabally launched his criticism at Yankuba Darboe during the President’s “Meet the People” tour in Brikama.
A few days before the gathering, Yankuba Darboe had promised residents in each ward under his leadership a reward of 5 million dalasis if they voted out President Adama Barrow in 2026 and supported the United Democratic Party leader, Ousainou Darboe.
However, Mr. Darboe’s statement did not sit well with ruling party officials, prompting President Adama Barrow to hit back, urging Brikama residents to vote out their chairman so a proper market could be built.
The latest official to lash out at Chairman Darboe was Dr Demba Sabally, who said: “You should vote out your chairman who spends all his time fighting instead of working.”
He further noted that market conditions have been far more deplorable under Darboe’s leadership than before.
