Former Gambian international footballer Ebrima Sohna has announced his decision to boycott all Gambia national team football activities, expressing deep frustration with the current leadership of the Gambia Football Federation (GFF).
“I have decided to boycott all Gambia national team football activities under the current Gambia Football Federation until the entire federation is dissolved,” Sohna said in a statement.
He accused the federation of showing “a blatant disregard for football, Gambian footballers, and the legends who have sacrificed for the country,” pointing to the lack of meaningful development in Gambian football.
Sohna specifically highlighted the failure to improve infrastructure and deliver on projects, stating that the federation has “fail[ed] to provide proper football infrastructure, build even a single new mini football pitch, and [has been] overseeing numerous failed projects.”
Concluding his statement, Sohna made his position clear: “Until this federation is replaced, I will not watch or support any Gambia national team games.”
