Alhaji Ahmed Bensouda, father of Kanifing Municipality Mayor Talib Bensouda, has died, family sorucea confirmed to Gambiana.

He served as a Permanent Secretary in the administration of former president, Sir Dawda Kairaba Jawara, where he played a key role in the country’s early post-independence civil service.

Known for his dedication and commitment to public service, he earned respect across government circles.

Alhaji Bensouda is survived by four children, including Mayor Talib Bensouda.

Details of funeral arrangements are expected to be confirmed by the family.
