In a nail-biting finale at the Jam Park Box Bar Mini Stadium, Foni Zone triumphed over Brufut Zone, securing the West Coast Zonal Tournament title for the second consecutive year. The exhilarating match had fans on the edge of their seats as Foni emerged victorious with a 2-1 scoreline.

The action kicked off with Modou Lamin Colley making his mark early on, scoring a dazzling glancing header from a cleverly taken free-kick. The electrifying atmosphere was palpable as Foni supporters erupted in celebration. 

As the clock wound down, the dynamic Edrissa Gibba took centre stage, doubling Foni’s lead with a stunning goal just 11 minutes before the end of regulation.

However, Brufut showed immense resilience, refusing to back down even with the odds stacked against them. In a dramatic twist, Nuha Jatta managed to find the back of the net with a spectacular looping shot in the 84th minute, igniting hopes of a comeback but time was not on their side.

At the final whistle, Foni emerged not just as champions but also received glittering medals, a magnificent trophy, and a cash prize of D100,000. Brufut left with medals and a consolation prize of D80,000, recognizing their valiant effort.

The tournament also saw standout performances rewarded: Edrissa Gibba was crowned The Best Player Of The Tournament, while Abdoukadir Sabally from Sukuta claimed the Leading Goalscorer Award. The Best Goalkeeper Award went to Omar Mendy Mendy of Lamin, and Gunjur Zone was recognized with the Most Disciplined Zone Award. 

In addition, Abdoukadir Touray from Sanyang earned the title of The Youngest Best Player, while Foni’s coach, Ebrima Camara, rightfully took home the Best Coach Award. 

The passionate Brufut supporters truly stole the show by being awarded the title of Best Fans of the Tournament.
