A forex bureau worker was threatened with death on Wednesday after a man attempted to withdraw cash using a woman’s identity card.
Kaddy Sanyang said that the man arrived at her workplace on Wednesday morning requesting a cash withdrawal.
She said that after asking for the withdrawal code and identification, the man handed her an ID card belonging to a woman.
Ms Sanyang explained that she informed him the ID did not belong to him and could not be used to make the withdrawal.
“He then burst out in anger and started shouting death threats at me. I was terrified because my mind went to the recent killing of a forex bureau woman,” she said.
She added that a man who supplies cash to the bureau arrived a few minutes later and forced the suspect to leave the premises.
Ms Sanyang said she later closed her office, reported the incident to the Sukuta police, and stayed at home for her safety.
“I reported the matter to the police, who called the number the man gave me, but it rang once and went off. They told me an investigation has been launched to trace him,” she added.
