Fortune Football Club came from a goal down to defeat Greater Tomorrow FC 2-1 at the Box Bar Mini Stadium, recording their second consecutive win of the 2025/2026 Gambia Football Federation Division One season.
Greater Tomorrow took the lead in the 15th minute through Bully Drammeh, who produced a moment of brilliance with a powerful effort that struck the crossbar before bouncing over the line.
The Petroleum Boys responded swiftly, restoring parity within four minutes. Muhammed Jallow capitalised on a goalkeeping error to level the score at 1-1.
Greater Tomorrow created several clear-cut opportunities thereafter, including multiple one-on-one situations. Still, Fortune FC goalkeeper Nuha Sanyang was in outstanding form, producing a series of crucial saves to keep his side in the contest. Amadou Sowe came agonisingly close on several occasions and was even able to round the former Gambia U-20 goalkeeper, but failed to convert.
The second half followed a similar pattern, with Greater Tomorrow pressing and Fortune FC relying on the brilliance of Sanyang between the posts. As football often punishes missed chances, Greater Tomorrow were made to pay late in the game.
After Amadou Sowe missed another gilt-edged opportunity, Fortune FC struck decisively on the counter-attack. Basse-born forward Bangally Manneh calmly lobbed the ball into the net in the 83rd minute to complete the comeback.
Elsewhere in Division One action, goalkeeper Ebrima Sonko scored a stunning free-kick goal for Bombada FC, but Musa Ceesay rescued a point for Falcons FC with a penalty deep into added time.
Baboucarr Jallow netted the decisive goal as Gambia Ports Authority secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Samger FC, while Team Rhino FC and Steve Biko played out a goalless draw.
