The Gambia government has announced the sale of rice donated by Japan as part of a grant to support food security.

The National Food Security Processing and Marketing Corporation (NFSPMC) said the 30kg bags of rice would be sold for 1,000 dalasis each.

In a statement, the NFSPMC said the initiative reflected ongoing cooperation between The Gambia and Japan, aimed at improving access to essential food supplies.

It added that 50kg bags of Saro rice are also available at outlets across the country.
