The Gambia Police Force says they will provide free transportation to commuters on Monday as drivers to stage a nationwide strike.

In a statement The Gambia Police Force said:”The high command wishes to inform the general public that it will put some of the GPF fleet of vehicles out for public service on Monday 12th September 2022. 

“This measure is being taken to assist commuters and other road users to move freely in the wake of the proposed strike by members of the Gambia Transport Union.

 In this regard, the Gambia police force buses will be deployed from Brikama to Banjul, while others will ply the traffic light-Gunjur stretch.”
