The Gambia made history in their FIFA World Cup qualifier against Seychelles, winning 7-0 and recording their biggest competitive victory at the men’s senior level.
The Scorpions took the lead early through Adama Sidibeh in the 3rd minute, before Abdoulie Manneh doubled the advantage in the 24th minute, marking his first goal for the national team.

Seconds after the restart, Sidibeh scored his second of the match in the 46th minute. Musa Barrow then struck twice in quick succession in the 47th and 52nd minutes, becoming Gambia’s all-time leading scorer with 14 goals.

Abdoulie Manneh completed his hat-trick with goals in the 67th and 76th minutes, sealing a historic 7-0 win for the Scorpions.

This result surpasses their previous record competitive victory of 6-0 against Lesotho in 2002 during the African Cup of Nations qualifiers, marking a new milestone for The Gambia in men’s senior football.
