The Gambia U-20 football team will take on Senegal’s U-20 team on Thursday in their WAFU A tournament in Monrovia, Liberia after Mauritania’s withdrawal from the tournament. The match will kick off at 4:00pm.
The team will play their final group stage match two days later, on September 21st, at the same time against Mali.
Head coach Abdoulie Bojang, is with high hope of lifting the trophy, as he expressed satisfaction in his players drawn from the country’s first and second division league clubs.
The team players have been training together for more than a month before the championship after a rigorous and extensive selection of breeds of young talents across the country.
However, some local football pundits and fans have been raising eyebrows about the mode of selection of the players, as some believed there are other good players left out.
