Pierre Chery, former president of The Gambia Volley Federation, has died.

The late Mr Pierre Chery served as the head of the country’s volleyball body from 1997 to 2001.

He has been eulogised for leading the nation’s volleyball revival after a period of few years of dormancy.

“Volleyball has since made remarkable progress. We send our condolences to his family and friends. May his soul rest in peace,” the Gambia Volleyball Federation said.
