The leader of the pro-Barrow Gambia Action Party has slammed senior opposition leader over his anti-government protest plan. 

Musa Ousainou Yali Batchilly has called for the arrest of Falang Sonko, United Democratic Party’s KMC regional chairman. 

Sonko said in an audio: “Their fraud has been uncovered, IEC officials whom you know are paid from taxpayer’s money. 

“They betrayed Allah, they betrayed the prophet, they betrayed The Gambia and all good Gambians and they fraudulently put Adama Barrow in office, something Gambians do not want. Gambians did not vote for him. 

“They registered foreigners and these are the people who voted for Adama Barrow. But by the grace of God, Allah will pass judgment between us and them in this world and the hereafter. But we will also take a step and fight to the end.”

But Batchilly said: “I listened to Falang Sonko’s audio and number one he is a Muslim but he insulted the entire Gambia in his audio. He disrespected the whole Gambia and he disrespected the political parties and their leaders who joined the National People’s Party and insulted and insulted the Gambians verdict.”

“What Falang Sonko said is incitement and he should be arrested. And Baa Ousainou as a political leader should call Falang and address him about this audio because this election victory was the Gambians verdict. Thus, he insulted the entire Gambia,” he added.

He continued: “And Falang Sonko I respect you so much and you said: you give the IEC chairman to resign. Who are you to ask the IEC chairman to resign?”
