
The Office of the President has announced that Thursday, 19 March and Friday, 20 March 2026 will be observed as public holidays across The Gambia in celebration of Eid-ul-Fitr, locally known as Koriteh.
The declaration, made on behalf of President Adama Barrow, is in anticipation of the end of the holy month of Ramadan.
Authorities noted that the exact day of Eid will be confirmed following the official moon sighting announcement by the Gambia Supreme Islamic Council.
President Barrow, on behalf of the Government and the First Family, extended warm Eid greetings to all Gambians, wishing the Muslim Ummah a peaceful and joyous celebration.
