The Gambian government has released the names of individuals and companies that purchased assets once owned by former President Yahya Jammeh, following growing public pressure and recent youth-led protests demanding transparency.
In a statement, the Ministry of Justice said the disclosure aligns with its earlier commitment to provide full details on the sale of Jammeh’s confiscated assets. The assets were disposed of through various government-authorised bodies, including the Janneh Commission, which handled the sale of vehicles, tractors, scrap materials, and other items.
Furniture and furnishings were sold by Augustus Prom Audit Tax Advisory on the commission’s instructions, while livestock was auctioned by the Sheriff Division of the Judiciary. Properties and shares were managed by Alpha Kapital, which is still overseeing the final phase of asset sales.
The Ministry added that it has requested more detailed breakdowns from Augustus Prom and the Sheriff Division, including buyer names and sale prices, which will be published once received.

“The Ministry of Justice reiterates its commitment to transparency, accountability, and the public’s right to be informed on matters of national interest,” the statement said.
The announcement follows a major demonstration in Banjul by the protest group Gambians Against Looted Assets (GALA), which called for the publication of asset sale records. Although the protest was denied a permit and led to the arrest of 27 participants, all have since been released.
Below is the published list of buyers of Jammeh’s seized assets.
