Hamat Bah

Hamat Bah, the Minister of Lands and Religious Affairs, has said that he will take legal action against Pa Modou Bojang over claims linking him to the purchase of assets belonging to former President Yahya Jammeh.

Mr Bah, who is currently in the United States on official duties, denies allegations that he bought livestock previously owned by the ex-leader, calling the claims “entirely false”.

“I will categorically say that I have never bought a single cow from Yahya Jammeh. No matter what I do, I do not want to buy anything that I have not been properly subjected to,” he said. “I have instructed my lawyers to take all appropriate actions against Pa Bojang immediately. They will begin acting this morning.”

“I have written to my lawyer, and he will take immediate action before the end of this week. They will all receive communication from him. I need to address this situation as soon as possible. No one will be allowed to tarnish my image or the image of this country,” he told Coffee Time.

Mr Bojang is yet to respond to the legal threat.
