The High Court today ordered for the release of General Saul Badjie and two of his detained colleagues at Mile 2 prisons.
The court dismissed the state request to prolong their detention saying that it’s unconstitutional.
No formal charges have yet been made against General Badjie and other former guards of ex-president Yahya Jammeh.
The high court gave three orders including the immediate release of General Badjie and for him to make himself available in respect of any future investigation and that he should not leave the country.
General Badjie, Major Landing Tamba and WO Musa Badjie are accused of killing two US-Gambian nationals.
