Omar Jammeh, Member of the National Assembly for Janjanbureh, has officially joined the NPP party, citing a desire to advance community development and respond to the calls of his constituents.

Speaking on the affiliation, Jammeh explained that his recent visit to the party was aimed at recognising ongoing developments, discussing local concerns, and exploring ways to contribute to the community’s growth.

“The purpose of my visit was very positive, to recognise the developments in the country, discuss concerns within the community, and explore ways I can support these initiatives,” he said.

Confirming his membership, Jammeh stated, “Yes, exactly. I am now a full-fledged member of the NPO. Absolutely.”

On the importance of joining the party, he emphasized that his decision was driven not by personal ambition but by a commitment to service.

“For me, joining or affiliating myself is not just about myself. It’s about helping to push the development of this community. This was also prompted by the people of the community in terms of affiliating themselves with the party and the government,” Jammeh said.

He further highlighted that his NPO affiliation offers a platform to actively engage with local governance, party initiatives, and the broader development agenda while maintaining close contact with the community that elected him.

Jammeh’s announcement is being seen as a strategic boost for the NPP party, reflecting a growing grassroots alignment and reinforcing the party’s efforts to strengthen its presence in Janjanbureh and the surrounding regions.
