Sambujang Njie, chief electoral officer of the Independent Electoral Commission, has dismissed Citizens Alliance ‘conspiring’ allegation against him and urged the party to talk to his office and not him as a person.

Citizens Alliance leader Dr Ismaila Ceesay at a news conference on Friday alleged that: “We have credible information that Sambujang has been leaning to a particular political party in this country that he is conspiring with a political party to ensure we don’t contest the 2021 presidential election.”

But speaking to Gambiana exclusively on telephone, Sambujang Njie said: “what I have to tell you is that he [Dr Ceesay] is taking it personal and I don’t respond to personal allegations. This is an office and he should talk to the office, not me.”
