Kabafita United are the champions of the 2024 Brikama Summer Nawettan thanks to a pulsating 6-5 post-match penalty shootout win over Kutajonbul FC after a nail-biting goalless draw. 

Both sides created plenty of chances to decide the encounter in regulation time but failed to grab the opportunities. Both Kutajonbul FC and Kabafita United have to face the daunting challenge of a post-match penalty shootout where the Dragons triumphed 6-5.  

Kabafita United scooped away a trophy, medals and a staggering D100,000 as the winners of the Brikama Sports Committee 2024 Nawettan while Kutajonbul FC took D75,000 and medals as runners-up.

Abdou Sanneh of Kutajonbul FC has been honoured with a Ballon d’Or replica as the Best Player of the Brikama Nawettan. Buba Camara of Kabafita United received the Golden Boot Award after scoring 5 goals during the course of the league. 

Saikou Jeng of Fortune FA was awarded the Golden Glove, the Kutajonbul FC coach Sainey Bojang the Best Coach of the Nawettan while the vociferous Santo-Su Fans’ Club won the Best Fans Club Award.  

The recipients of the Awards all took home a D5,000 cash prize from AGIB Bank while DK Telecoms sponsored the accolades.

Africell Gambia LTD bankrolled the Brikama Nawettan.
