Barrow and Kandeh

Mama Kandeh, leader of the opposition Gambia Democratic Congress, has warned Gambians against voting in the Barrow government in 2026.

Addressing his party members, the twice presidential election loser, said that the country is “seriously sinking” under Barrow leadership, adding that Gambians should endeavour to rescue the country by voting out the National People’s Party government.

“The country is in a ditch and we must stand to rescue the country from sinking in the coming election. This government has no intention for the citizens other than enriching themselves that’s why they are introducing bills that would enrich them. They are good at increasing taxes to enrich themselves. They don’t have the country at heart,” he said.

“I’ve said this in 2016 and 2017 that this government is made up of hungry and angry people. That’s why they have sold all Jammeh’s properties. But let’s continue seizing our lands to build their houses, that’s not a problem. As far as they are building in the country. What goes around comes around until the time comes if they are more blessed than other Gambians.

“They have sold all Yahya Jammeh’s properties, even the properties Jammeh gave out to people they seized and sold them. They have seized more than a thousand tractors from our farmers and sold them and now purchased 50 tractors claiming to empower farmers,” he added.
