Dozens of Kanifing residents have been left speechless and suspicious after a parked commercial bus mysteriously caught fire and burnt down in the estate. 

The residents suspected arson attack by unscrupulous individuals.

Momodou Suwareh, nominated councillor of the ward said: “the bus had no battery in it and there was no petrol in its diesel engine. So, I believe the fire must have been caused by someone.”

Jaja Sawo, an uncle to the owner of the bus company, said he was called by his son and upon getting to the scene he was told that someone was seen coming out of the bus but could not be identified as it was dark.

Sawo expressed disappointment about the incident describing the alleged perpetrator to have done it out of jealousy

According to eyewitnesses, there was an electricity blackout in the area, adding that the fire started after they saw someone coming out of the bus.
