Kitty Community were crowned champions of the President Adama Barrow sponsored Brikama Sports Committee Inter Kabilo Tournament after a hard fought 2-1 victory over Nema Kabilo in the final at Box Bar.

Nema Kabilo made the perfect start to the match when Abdoulie Manjang rose highest to head home in the 7th minute, reigniting their “Our Land, Our Cup” mantra among the fans.

Kitty Community responded quickly as Lamin Sonko restored parity in the 14th minute after capitalising on a costly mistake from the Nema Kabilo goalkeeper.

The decisive moment came in the 65th minute when Amadou Jallow reacted quickest inside the box to score from a goalmouth scramble and hand Kitty Community the historic victory.

As champions, Kitty Community went home with D75,000, gold medals and the giant trophy presented by President Adama Barrow. Runners up Nema Kabilo received silver medals and a consolation prize of D50,000.

President Adama Barrow, Minister of Youth and Sports Bakary Y. Badjie, and several cabinet ministers were in attendance for the final, marking the first time a sitting Gambian president has watched a final at Box Bar.
